The Master Musicians of Joujouka

モロッコ北部リーフ山地、ジャジューカ村のスーフィー・トランス楽団。1950年代初頭から続き、村の50人を超える音楽家が名を連ねる。1971年、Brian Jones が録音した LP がローリング・ストーンズのレーベルから出た。それを機に、村の音楽は世界に知られることになる。2021年にはポンピドゥー・センターでのライヴ盤を発表している。

A collective of Jbala Sufi trance musicians from the village of Joujouka in Morocco's Rif mountains, performing since the early 1950s and numbering over fifty musicians. In 1971 an LP recorded by Brian Jones was released on Rolling Stones Records, carrying the village's music to the world. A live album recorded at Centre Pompidou followed in 2021.
