NU FESTIVAL
Takanawa Gateway City — TokyoNU は NEXT NEW UNITY の略。音とアートの交差点に置かれた都市規模のプログラムを掲げ、再開発によって生まれた高輪ゲートウェイシティを舞台とする。 プログラムは5つに分かれ、NU ART が Sónar+D と六本木の SuperDeluxe、NU LIVE が Sónar Sound、NU STATION が J-WAVE と組む。ほかに NU CONNECTION と NU PARK が置かれる。音楽プログラムだけでなく、テクノロジーとクリエイティビティを扱う Sónar+D の枠組みごと持ち込んでいる点に、このフェスティバルの設計が出ている。
NU stands for NEXT NEW UNITY, a city-wide programme positioned at the intersection of sound and art. It takes place at Takanawa Gateway City, a newly developed district in Tokyo. The programme splits into five strands: NU ART, running with Sonar+D and Roppongi's SuperDeluxe; NU LIVE, with Sonar Sound; NU STATION, with the broadcaster J-WAVE; plus NU CONNECTION and NU PARK. What stands out structurally is that it imports more than the music programming. Sonar+D, the strand dealing with technology and creativity, comes across intact, which places art and research alongside the live programme rather than behind it.
