What is DENKI BODHISATTVA
電気菩薩 (DENKI BODHISATTVA) is an underground party collective that started in Tokyo in 2021. Blending music, art and fashion, and drawing on a worldview inspired by Eastern mysticism and chaos, they have built experiences where visuals, sound and space become one.
Based in Tokyo's club scene, they have expanded into open-air raves and events overseas. What they stand for is a place where anyone can set themselves free, beyond differences of nationality, culture, age and values.
A base of airport opposition, now a space for culture
The venue is Kinone Pension, right next to Narita Airport. In the 1960s it served as a base for the movement opposing the construction of Narita Airport, and in 1989 it was transformed into a guest house. Today it's used as a space for all kinds of culture, from music to art.
Enormous planes pass overhead, and you'll dance with takeoffs and landings happening up close. From dusk through midnight until sunrise, 24 hours unfold as the sky keeps changing.
Chinese horror. The entire venue becomes a Halloween otherworld.
Combining music, art and spatial production, the whole site is turned into a Halloween otherworld. For those coming in costume, a HALLOWEEN COSTUME ticket is also available.
On site you'll find a KOBINAI POP UP, a tea ceremony by 燃蛾茶会 ran-e / kai, an immersive VR RAVE experience, and food stalls. More vendors and special content are set to be announced.
From techno to dark psy and hi-tech. Sounds from different genres connect across 24 hours.
One to watch is DJ MARIA., based in Japan and with appearances at Berlin's Berghain and Georgia's Bassiani. Her hypnotic sets, moving between psychedelic techno, acid and trance, have won support on underground floors around the world.
From abroad come FEIYI, who runs FinderShanghai in Shanghai, and Berlin's SENAIDA, who fuses experimental sound with technology. Tokyo-based EVE, whose sound centers on industrial and techno, also joins the bill.
From Japan, DJs active in underground scenes across the country gather: MARS89, Mt.Chori, TEI TEI, SUEPON, URUHARA, YELLOWUHURU, HALU, MAYUDEPTH, Rick Shinmi and more. Expect techno, hypnotic, industrial, trance, ambient, drum'n'bass, psychedelic, dark psy, psycore and hi-tech.
